Pokémon binder

A physical binder shows your cards. A digital Pokémon binder also tells you which cards you are still missing, how far each set is complete and what the whole collection is worth. Riftbinder keeps that binder for you, free, in your browser and on your phone.

What the digital binder does

Your collection lives next to the full card list of every set, the way you would file it in a real binder. Each set shows how many of its cards you own, and the card list can be cut down to the cards you have, so the gaps are easy to find.

  • Owned and missing, per set. Filter a set's cards to the ones you own and compare with the full list, so you know what to look for when you open packs or trade.
  • Set completion. Every set shows how many of its cards you have collected, and you can filter the set list by completion to see which set is closest to done.
  • Collection value. Market prices are applied to your copies, so you see what your collection is worth and which cards carry the value.
  • Variants and foils. Each finish of a card is tracked on its own, with its own count, condition and price, so a foil never hides a missing normal copy.
  • More than one binder. On a paid plan, split your cards into binders, for example a set binder, a trade binder and a deck box, and move cards between them.

Add cards by searching or with the card scanner; paid plans can also import a CSV file. Your collection is private to your account.

How many binder pages per set

A standard binder page has 9 pockets on each side. To keep one copy of every card in a set, divide its card count by 9 and round up. A double-sided sheet holds 18 cards. The numbers below come straight from our Pokémon set catalog and update when a new set is released.

Pokémon binder layout guide

One section per set

Give every set its own block of pages, newest set at the back so the binder grows in one direction. A divider or an empty page between sets makes them easy to find.

Order by collector number

File cards by the number printed on them, left to right and top to bottom. Every card then has a fixed pocket, an empty pocket always means a missing card, and new pulls slot straight in. Sorting by rarity looks good at first but forces you to shift cards every time you add one.

Where alt-arts and promos go

Put alternate-art and other special versions in their own pages right after the main set, still in number order. Promos do not belong to a set's numbering, so give them a promo section of their own at the end of the binder. Foils can share the pocket order of the main set on separate pages, or sit next to their normal copy if you only collect one of each.

Mirror it online

Keep the same order in Riftbinder, and on a paid plan the same split: one binder for your set collection, one for trades. When the physical and the digital binder match, the missing list on screen is your shopping list.

Frequently asked questions

What is a digital Pokémon binder?
It is your Pokémon collection on Riftbinder, laid out set by set. Every card you add counts toward its set, each set shows how many of its cards you have collected, and your copies are valued at market prices.
How many pages do I need for a Pokémon set?
Divide the number of cards in the set by 9, the pockets on a standard binder page, and round up. A double-sided sheet holds 18 cards, so you need half as many sheets. The table on this page does the math for every recent set.
How should I organize my Pokémon binder?
Most collectors give each set its own section and file cards by collector number, so every card has a fixed pocket and gaps show what is missing. Alternate-art and other special cards go in a section after the main set, and promos get their own pages.
Is the digital binder free?
Yes. A free account tracks up to 1,000 cards, with no credit card needed. Paid plans raise the limits.
